(Turn your sound on!) Take a few minutes to think about some of these questions (could you chat them through with a parent/guardian/sibling??)
What one thing can you remind yourself of that has been really positive this week?
If you could be anywhere, eating anything right now – where and what would it be?
Last week, we thought about Jesus taking the blame for us and Barabbas – have you been blamed for anything this week that wasn’t your fault?
Have you ever pretended to not know someone that you actually do!? (This isn’t necessarily a good thing – but I know I’m guilty of it with my brother!!)
Remember – Why do we look at the Bible?… Why don’t you pray right now that God would speak to you as you read His Word? (Here is a prayer you can use: “Father, thank you for Your Word, the Bible. I pray that you would speak to me as I read it now, and that I might grow to be more like you, Lord Jesus. Amen.”
Grab a Bible – read: Luke chapter 22, verses 54-62
If you don’t have a Bible at home (please let me know as I will get you one), here is a link to the reading online:
What do you notice about the position in which Peter was following Jesus (in v54)? (Quite fitting for this time we’re in!!)
Throughout the story, what do you notice about who accuses Peter? Is it the same person each time? Is it different people each time?
Can you describe how Peter reacts each time to being accused of knowing Jesus?
Even though Jesus knew that His friend, Peter, would deny Him 3 times, how do you think Jesus was feeling right now?
Do you think Jesus was feeling isolated in a similar way to how we are right now?
“Last week we thought about why Jesus had to die, do you remember!? And one of the ways we discussed was that, in light of sin creating a barrier between us and God and distancing us from Him, God wanted to make a way that we could be brough back to Him and our relationship with Him could be restored!“
