This a testing time for us all as we cope with the uncertainty that the corona virus brings, and we all need to know that we are not alone. Testwood Baptist Church is a family and we support each other.
As a church we believe that prayer, and relationship with God, is intrinsically important. The bible says “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” These are anxious times, but prayer gives us direct access to God, and He wants us to make our requests known to Him.
We value prayer at Testwood Baptist Church and if you would like someone to pray for you, then we would love to do that.
We also recognise that this time of isolation can be lonely for those at home. We believe in the importance of standing together in this time, of being in contact with others even if we can’t meet up. It’s our opportunity to be family together.
If you would like someone from the church to contact you by telephone, just to chat, we would love to try and set this up. Everyone needs someone to ask how their week has been, and it’s good to have the opportunity to talk about how we are doing. For some, this could also be a good time to ask for prayer.
Please fill in your details below and we will try our very best to be in contact with you soon.
A prayer for today:
We are not people of fear; we are people of courage. We are not people who protect our own safety; we are people who protect our neighbours’ safety. We are not people of greed; we are people of generosity. We are your people God; help us to be giving and loving, wherever we are, whatever it costs, for as long as it takes, wherever you call us.
In Jesus’ name,
The Lords Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
