What To Expect

We understand that coming along to any new place for the first time can be a nerve-racking experience. To make it easier, this page will give you an idea of what to expect and what a Sunday Service at Testwood Baptist Church is like.

Testwood Baptist Church can be found at 283a, Salisbury Road, Totton, SO40 3LZ. For more information, including where to park, please visit the Find Us page.

Take a look at the Find Us page for full information about where to park for a Sunday service.

We are a friendly church and everyone is welcome, regardless of background. When you come into the church building, you will be greeted at the door and offered a copy of our weekly newsletter. The services on a Sunday start at 9.30am, 11:15am and 7.00pm. Most morning services last about an hour, or a little longer if communion is involved. The evening services may last a little longer. The services have a contemporary feel and will normally consist of singing, some prayers and an easy to listen to talk. If you need to leave during a service, no-one will mind if you slip out discreetly. There is also an area called the Hub where you can go and sit and watch the service on the TV screen. If you’d like to know what the talks are like, you can listen to previous messages online before you come. There is no assigned seating within the church; you can sit where you like, or if you are not sure where to go a steward will be happy to help you. After the morning services tea, coffee and squash are served from the Hub. Please feel free to visit the Welcome Desk in the reception area to find out more about our weekly activities and pick up a welcome pack.

There is a very popular youth and children’s department at Testwood and we look forward to welcoming your child to one of our groups on a Sunday morning. We cater from babies right up to school year 6. We also have a youth department group called Encounter for school years 7 to 11 that meets in the coffee bar during the morning service. All our leaders are DBS checked.

There will be an offering as part of our worship service, but don’t feel embarrassed to pass the collection bags on without putting anything in it. Many church members contribute directly through their bank accounts so you won’t be the only one passing it on.

The church also features a sports hall where some of the children’s groups meet, a creche and additional rooms for children and youth, along with offices, the Hub coffee shop at the entrance of the church and the Testwood Baptist Church Preschool.
