New To Testwood?Welcome to Testwood Baptist Church. If this is your first time here, we hope you find all the information that you are looking for, however please feel free to contact us direct on 02380 860320 if you have any further questions.
Welcome EveningsEach term we have an evening set aside to welcome people who've recently started coming along to church. It's an informal evening... pizza, salad, dessert & good company! It's held in The Hub at church, and is a great time to meet some new people and find out a bit more about the church.
This year's Welcome Evenings are on 8th July and 25th November 2016. There's a sign up sheet at the Welcome Desk in church or email Janice. Please let us know if you have any dietary needs.
New to Church? We understand it can be daunting if you've never been to Church before - or if its been a while.
To make it easier, this page gives you some idea of what to expect and what a Church Service is really like and what we get up to.
Where is the Church?
The Church can be found at 283a, Salisbury Road, Totton, SO40 3LZ. Here's a map...
Parking is a bit limited around the back of the church but the good news is that we try and leave space for guests and disabled parking. So if it's your first time visiting the church or you are disabled then please feel free to park at the church.
If the car park is full then please follow this link to park in the Industrial Estate. (It is easy to drop off your passengers and then go and park if the weather is bad!)
What Happens When I Get There?
We are a friendly church and everyone is welcome regardless of background! When you come into the Church building, someone will greet you at the door and offer you a copy of the weekly notices.
The services start at 9.30am, 11:15am and 7.00pm. Most morning services last about an hour or a little longer if communion is involved. The evening services (Refuel) last a little longer.
The services have a contemporary feel and will normally consist of singing, some prayers and an easy to listen to sermon. If you need to leave during a service, no-one will mind if you slip out discreetly. There is also an area called the Hub where you can go and sit and watch the service on the TV screen.
If you'd like to know what the sermons are like, you can listen to previous sermons online before you come! Click here.
You can sit where you like or if you are not sure where to go a steward will be happy to help you.
After the morning services tea, coffee and squash are served from the Hub. Please feel free to visit the Welcome Desk in the reception area to find out more about our weekly activities and pick up a welcome pack.
Is There Anything for my Children?
There is a very popular youth and children's department at Testwood and we look forward to welcoming your child to one of our groups on a Sunday morning, catering from babies right up to school year 6. We also have a youth department group called Encounter for school years 7 to 11 that meets in the coffee bar during the morning service. All our leaders are CRB checked.
Will I be asked to give money?
There will be an offering as part of our worship service, but don't feel embarrassed to pass the collection bags on without putting anything in it. Many Church members contribute directly through their bank accounts so you won't be the only one passing it on!
What does the church look like inside?
There's a few photos on this page to help you (above right).
We hope you feel welcome!
We often say there are 'no perfect people allowed' here at Testwood Baptist Church so if that's you then you're in good company!
